The Philippine Embassy will conduct a registration for overseas absentee voting (OAV) on Friday, 17 February 2006, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Islamic Center, Second Industrial City in Riyadh.

This list-up is in coordination with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and the Kalipunang Kaakabay ng Manggagawang Pilipino sa Saudi Arabia (KAKAMPI-KSA) Industrial Area, Riyadh.

Ambassador Bahnarim A. Guinomla has called on OFWs in the Industrial Area and nearby areas to take time to register at the Islamic Center this Friday in order to participate in next year’s elections.

POLO and OWWA, headed by Labor Attaché Manuel Roldan and Welfare Officer Armando Roa, along with SSS and Pag-Ibig, will likewise be rendering their services to fellow OFWs during the day.

The Ambassador also expressed his gratitude to Mr. Manuel “Bong” Amora of KAKAMPI-KSA for his group’s active involvement and support for OAV registration and information campaign.

Aside from applications for registration and certification, applications for correction of wrong entries in the voter’s ID and change of data are also accepted.

Registered voters in 2003 who have been issued voter’s IDs without photos, thumbprints or signatures may also proceed to the registration area to have their biometrics recaptured.

Applications for transfer of registration record from one country to another will also be accepted.

Regular registration days at the Embassy are from Saturdays to Wednesdays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Embassy shall announce its next schedule for OAV registration on a weekend.
