PHILIPPINE OVERSEAS ABSENTEE VOTING
20 Aug 2006 – The Philippine Embassy announced today that the Philippine Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has extended the deadline for the registration of Overseas Absentee Voters (OAV) to 30 September 2006.
In addition to the regular registration of absentee voters, filing of application for transfer of overseas registration record from one country to another or from this Post (Riyadh or Jeddah) to a Philippine city or municipality other than the original residence has also been extended to 30 September 2006.
For transfer of record from Post back to the original residence in a Philippine city or municipality, the deadline has been extended until 31 October 2006.
For the month of September, the Embassy will conduct OAV registration at the Mabini Hall during working hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., from Saturday to Wednesday.
The Embassy shall continue to conduct mobile and field OAV registration in the Kingdom. Hospitals and large companies that employ a significant number of Filipinos may request for an Embassy team to provide the registration service at the worksite in any day of the week.
