  • Can   hire anybody from any part of the world.
  • Easier   visa processing
  • New   visas with open professions through the electronic system.
  • Can   change professions of their workers even to those that are restricted to   Saudis, except jobs such as employment officials, receptionists, government   liaison officials, treasury staff, and security officers.
  • Condition-free   visa transfer: Can hire employees from Red zone and Yellow zones, and   transfer their visas without the permission of their employers
  • Entitled   to a one-year grace period if their municipal and professional licenses or   commercial registrations were expired.

  • Can   apply for new visas once every two months.
  • Can   change their foreign workers’ profession except to those restricted to Saudis   (i.e.human resource managers; liaison   officers; cashiers; receptionists; security guards)
  • A   six-month respite after the expiry of their zakat & revenue certificates.
  • Can   renew work permits of their employees.
  • Can   recruit employees in red and yellow zones and transfer their visas without   the approval of their employers.

Poor compliance

Punitive Measures:

  • No   new visas
  • Can   get only one visa after the departure of two expatriates
  • Cannot   transfer visas and change professions.
  • No   work permit renewal for employees who have completed six years.
  • No   control on workers who can switch over to premium zone companies

Grace Period:

9 months to   improve their status.


Punitive   Measures:

  • Banned   from change of profession, transfer of visas, issuance of new visas and   opening files for new branches.

Grace Period:

6 months to   improve their status.

Under   the new policy, foreign workers employed by companies that are not in   compliance are free to work for companies in compliance without acquiring   permission from their employers at non-complying companies.

  1. sir, galing po ako jubail July 2007 – July 2009….vacation lang po binigay sa akin sa halip na exit…meron po ako exit re-entry kaya lang di po mag ka coincide ang dates ng expiration ng visa at return ticket …which is DECEMBER 2009 ang nilagay nila na balik ko sa saudi pero expire na visa by that time at expire na rin iqama ko..lumapit ako sa agency na claim ko naman indemnities ko after hindi ni-rebook ng agency plane ticket ko at nag expire iqama ko…..nag apply ulit ako for saudi, ano po status ko nito?…makakapasok ba uli ako sa saudi?…thank you and more power

    • Kapabayaan ng employer ang nangyari sa iyo. SEcure a new passport and once the Saudi Embassy stamp your passport for new employment in KSA, ibig sabihin walang problema.

  2. Hello Sir! Under red line po ang company namin and I am scheduled to have my vacation in Pinas come March 27, 2012. May ticket na po ako at sariling pera ko pa ito hndi from employer. Natatakot po akong tumuloy sa aking bakasyon baka po hndi na ako mkabalik d2 sa riyadh. Ano po dapat kong gawin? Lagi nlang po paasa ang employer na magiging green na pero wla nmn pong nangyayari.

    • Mags, matanong kita, nasa red kamo ang employer mo pero binigyan ka ng exit re-entry, mukha yatang malakas ang employer mo sa jawasat. Ang iqama mo ba ay na renew pa?

      SA tanong mo, hindi kita masagot dahil malinaw naman po na ang mga red category na mga kompanya ay hindi na po puwedeng ma renew ang iqama ng worker not unless kung ang iyong iqama ay na-renew, it means you are allowed to go home for vacation and possible be back in KSA wihtout any problem.
